Tunnels (Armitage Systems)

The Auckland motorway network includes three major roading tunnels; Johnstone’s Hill providing a gateway to Northland; Victoria Park linking northbound traffic to the harbour bridge and Waterview connecting the western ring route providing a bi-directional link to Auckland’s south, central and western districts. Involved from the early stages with the design teams of all three projects Armitage played a pivotal role in the provision, installation and commissioning of ITS and safety systems including VMS, emergency telephony, fire protection systems, incident detection, over height detection and CCTV.  Furthermore, as part of the Auckland Motorway Alliance, Armitage provided service, maintenance and equipment renewal support.
