Public Transport Systems

Armitage was contracted to provide the electronic security and public safety systems for major Auckland Transport Rail and Bus Stations including Britomart, Newmarket, New Lynn, Manukau, Panmure & Otahuhu.  The expansion and upgrade of the Rail & Bus Stations to form important transport hubs feeding the inner city, western, southern and eastern suburbs was seen as a vital progression for public transport in the region commencing in 2003 with the upgrade of the central city Britomart transport hub.

Armitage were chosen to provide network and system integration knowledge and partner in the construction with numerous head contractors including NZ Strong, Hawkins, Downer, Fulton Hogan and Fletcher Construction, each responsible for a separate station or phase of rail network construction. Armitage also maintained the entire Auckland Transport rail network between 2003 and 2021.
